Junior Traffic Engineer at Ticon – the US-based startup that provides ample traffic data for transportation planning and mobility management (remote).
Ticon delivers accurate traffic maps with dashboards, as well as highly detailed reports, containing all relevant traffic data in a convenient, easy-to-read format. Innovative Ticon algorithm mines and processes terabytes of multi-sourced big data using multivariate analysis to produce traffic information focused on your particular location: city, neighborhood, street, or even exact address.
The CEO of the company, Gregory Brodski, is currently looking for a Junior Traffic Engineer to work on one of the company’s projects.

What will you do?
As a Junior Traffic Engineer at Ticon, your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing traffic patterns for both cars and people in various scenarios.
- Analyzing specific areas/districts and producing comprehensive reports on traffic patterns. Examples of reports can be found on the Ticon websites: https://csite.ticon.co/products-page/d-site-insight;https://csite.ticon.co/products-page/b-site-insight; https://www.ticon.co/.
- Working with the team to improve transport mobility and speed.
- Working with urban planning, traffic management, and the construction and maintenance of roads and infrastructure.
- Reviewing and making any necessary adjustments to the data provided by the automated application. Even though 80% of data is automatically generated, you will be the person ensuring its accuracy and quality.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of English – we expect you to have strong written and good oral communication skills.
- Any engineering degree – you have a strong proficiency in utilizing mathematic parameters to calculate productivity, resistance, and other relevant factors.
- Excellent skills in statistics and mathematics.
- Proficiency in using Excel.
- (Other than such a mathematical and engineering mindset, the team will teach you everything needed – this is a perfect role for someone who’s eager to start a career!)
Not necessary but will be a plus:
- Experience in urban planning, traffic management, and construction and maintenance of roads and infrastructure would be a plus.
- Knowledge of urban studies would be beneficial.
- Fluency in Russian is desirable but not required.
Working hours:
Your schedule can be flexible, but you need to occasionally adjust your schedule to have overlapping hours with the founder living in Boston, USA (EST time zone).
What we offer:
- Full-time schedule (8 working hours per day, 5/2). For this vacancy, we consider only senior last-year students who are able to work during the needed hours, or recent graduates and other junior specialists. Please note that we will not consider candidates planning to combine several jobs.
- Remote work. You may be located in any country or city, just need a good Internet connection and the opportunity to adjust your working schedule to have overlapping hours with the team.
- Stability – this is not an internship or project work, we consider only the candidates looking for a long-term commitment.
